Soboba Sand Drags are back at the Soboba Casino Motor Complex through Sunday, May 20, on the Soboba Indian Reservation near San Jacinto.
This month’s event, organized by the volunteer Southern California Sand Drag Association and presented by Larry Minor Motorsports, is dubbed Mayhem at Soboba.
Testing starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, with qualifiers at noon. The last race event starts at 8 p.m. The youth division starts at 9 a.m. Sunday and the last racing finals start at 6:15 p.m., according to the association’s schedule.
Racing is west of the casino area. Gate admission is $10 a day for adults, $5 for children ages 9 to 12. Younger children are admitted free. SKIP AD
The San Jacinto City Council has committed a $5,000 sponsorship for this year’s sand drag events.
Limited bleacher seating is available, so spectators may bring lawn chairs. Information: www.SoCalSandDrags.com
