Today we celebrate Bucky Ray who recently passed away at the end of August. He is pictured here at the 2019 United Sand Association Reunion with his wife Sheila. Bucky ran the USA sand drags in Glen Helen, CA from 1984-1997 and hosted some of the best sand drag racing around. At USA you did things Bucky’s way or not at all. That iron will and take no crap attitude may have been a bit abrasive at times, but the results were some of the most professionally run races ever in the sport. He will surely be missed.
