Rick Sullivan Sr’s “Devil’s Whisper” with Murdock Murphy behind the wheel right before a crash that ended his driving career. Sullivan sold the car to George Kowalski and Donnie Kaufman right before the finals in Avenal, CA. Sullivan was scheduled to drive for them, but due to the fatigue of driving all night to get the car to the track, Murphy was hired to pilot the nitro burning digger. One collapsed wheelie bar later completely destroyed the car almost killing Murphy in the process.
